The idea for Ophelia Button sprang from the fertile imagination of little Nico whose button collection was fast becoming too big for her bedroom. A dexterous designer and crafter with an eye for detail like a magpie, Nico is recognised for her unique style and love affair with all things vintage.
Long accustomed to creating special pieces of button and retro inspired jewellery for friends and family, she decided that the time had come to share her playful vision of dressing up with the wider world and enlisted the help of a special friend.
Long childhood afternoons spent playing with the treasures in grandma’s workbox inspired us with a love of hoarding and sorting; of buttons and bits of lace. And the result? A magical collection of hand-crafted treats which seamlessly marry the tea dance glamour of the 40s and the sauce of the 60s with the real-life requirements of a 21st century belle.
