For people who are looking for something different in the way of headwear; I design and produce a distinctive range of hand made headpieces with a fresh and innovative approach to headwear design.
Whilst my headwear is neither hat nor feather fascinator, it brings the wearer the very same thrill of standing out in a crowd. I create delicate structures using hand finished veneer combined with leather or paper, which look stylish, are easy to wear and are the ideal accessory to any special outfit.
I make sculptural forms from strips of curved and twisted veneer which I laminate with other materials such as leather, paper, suede and felt. The pieces are held together using tiny tube rivets; they are joined to a slide, comb or band to allow them to be worn with comfort and confidence. I then apply ink, acrylic or enamel finishes to the veneer and use colour and texture to accentuate the forms.
